Business Continuity Plan

Park Avenue Securities LLC is a wholly owned subsidiary of The Guardian Life Insurance Company of America, Inc (Guardian). Guardian has developed a Business Continuity Plan (BCP) on how our firm will respond to events that significantly disrupt our business.

Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery

Guardian has developed business continuity and disaster recovery capabilities in order to ensure that critical records and essential services are maintained and protected for our business customers in the case of an unforeseen event. In addition to a centralized corporate emergency management response plan, each business and functional area maintains business-specific continuity and disaster recovery plans. In the event of a prolonged outage, Guardian is capable of recovering critical operations using in-house alternate data centers and alternate workspace, as well as third-party disaster recovery facilities. To align with industry standard practices, Guardian’s primary data center is in a geographically separate location from its disaster recovery data center (approximately 250 miles apart). To ensure uninterrupted customer service, plans are maintained for the availability of alternate workspace should one of Guardian's primary work locations become inaccessible for an extended period.

Guardian tests its crisis response capabilities via its Corporate Emergency Response Plan through simulation exercises, as well as full business continuity and disaster recovery testing on an annual basis. Corporate governance and monitoring of Guardian’s crisis management is achieved through independent reporting and presentation to the company’s Chief Risk Officer, the Operational Risk Subcommittee and other internal groups. All of Guardian’s facilities perform fire safety drills in accordance with state and local laws which are monitored by local emergency personnel, city officials, and/or fire department personnel.
